Why do we have applications open twice a year?

We aim for 10 scholars a year. in 2024 we will open applications in Feb-March and Oct. Nov.

• Year 1 we had 3 cycles. The first one taught us a lot. We made some changes to the question and expanded our outreach to include over 200 clubs.

• Year 2 we settled on a Spring and a Fall cycle to reduce the outreach and workload.

• Year 3 we didn't have any changes in questions and have gotten more completed applications in a shorter amount of time.

Perhaps as we grow our reach and reputation, we would change to once a year for open applications in the Fall to allow time to plan for the Summer Career Summit. But we might miss graduating individuals.
